This position will require working with people and data across the IT organization and providing analytical support to IT Senior Management. This includes components of annual budgeting for capital and operating expenditures, quarterly forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting. Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.

  • Operating Expense Forecasting and Reporting (33%)

  • Work with IT department heads to produce annual operating budgets for their departments. Consolidate departmental budgets for CIO and others review.

  • Submit annual budgets to corporate Financial Planning and Analysis as part of the annual budget process.
  • Produce quarterly forecasts for IT departments incorporating actual results and updated assumptions.
  • Prepare budget reports and presentations for department heads, CIO, CFO and other corporate leadership.
  • Prepare variance analysis and reports comparing budgets, forecasts and actual results.
  • Capital Expenditure Forecasting and Reporting (33%)

  • Work with IT department heads and business-facing IT personnel to produce annual capital IT budgets.

  • Submit annual budgets to corporate Financial Planning and Analysis as part of the annual budget process.
  • Produce quarterly forecasts for capital incorporating actual spend and updated assumptions.
  • Prepare budget reports and presentations for department heads, CIO, CFO and other corporate leadership.
  • Prepare variance analysis and reports comparing budgets, forecasts and actual results.
  • Monthly Closing and Reporting (33%)

  • Review current invoice status, prepare accrual entries and perform other tasks to ensure monthly and quarterly results match forecasts as closely as possible.

  • Compare actual monthly and quarterly results with budgets and forecasts to determine reasons for variances.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for IT Leadership and others to report IT financial variances.
  • Work with Purchasing/Invoicing Specialist to classify orders and invoices appropriately based on budgets and forecasts.
Experience and Skills
  • Bachelors degree is preferred, Accounting, Finance or Technical degree is preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in IT with experience in at least 1 of the following areas: Finance, Accounting, IT

  • Basic understanding of accounting, GAAP

  • Baseline understanding of accounting techniques
  • Strong analytical, written communication, interpersonal, listening, interviewing and organizational skills
  • Strong documentation skills (narratives and flow charts)
  • Knowledge of information technology tools used in the accounting process including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Strong relationship skills
  • Strong process adherence orientation
